Mariupol, a city recognized as a cultural centre of the region, is home to the "Port of Cultures" cultural centre. The centre aims to be a key part of the city's artistic life and an architectural reflection of its historical heritage.

Openness and transparency are the core principles behind the design of this new community centre. The glass facade extends into the original building, symbolizing the blend of history and modernity structurally and ideologically.

The multifunctional space inside contrasts with the exterior, embracing simple shapes and minimalist colour schemes. The interior layout was designed to allow flexible movement, with no set paths, so visitors can freely explore all levels without barriers. The predominantly white interior reflects a metaphorical transparency, with walls acting as blank canvases filled with knowledge and culture.
